James is originally from Cheshire in the north west of England, where he currently lives.
His theatre experience is varied and ranges from Saturday morning classes from a young age to his most recent academic achievements at Middlesex University in London. He studied at Middlesex for three years on the Drama & Theatre Arts course, from which he graduated in the summer of 2009 with an Upper Second (2:1)
James has obtained a varied experience of theatre life from the production side and from performing. Middlesex enabled him to have a taste of the production of theatre where he involved himself in set and costume design and construction. This production experience lead him to work as a runner on music video productions and working behind the scenes during the most recent production from SHUNT, “The Duchess of Malfi” in East London.
James is currently working with acting coach Mark Hudson at the Manchester School of Acting, developing important skills for performance and auditioning. He also recently participated in a comedy workshop for CBBC at the BBC Manchester, being accepted onto the workshop after an audition round. The workshop gave him the opportunity to work with presenters and producers of CBBC, gaining a great level of experience in front of the camera and with the CBBC team behind the scenes.
In other areas, James is a keen photographer and has developed a large portfolio whilst living in London. During his time there he photographed models, west end actors, dancers and musicians. He has received a great response from his work, and his photography is something he is keen on developing in addition to his acting. In addition to his photography James is also a keen writer and particularly enjoys writing for comedy. This is an ongoing development and the material he has produced is something that he would greatly enjoy producing sometime in the near future.
